Another delicious jackfruit recipe and a perfect tea-time snack. Soft, mildly sweet, and filled with the natural flavour of ripe jackfruit, these little paniyarams are crispy outside and fluffy inside. A simple traditional treat that makes jackfruit season even more special.
Ingredients
Ripe jackfruit – 1/2 cup
Raw rice – 1 cup
Grated coconut – 1/4 cup
Jaggery – 1/4 cup (adjust to taste)
A pinch of baking soda (optional)
Salt 1/4 tsp
Ghee
Method
Soak rice for 2–3 hours and drain.
Grind rice and coconut with little water. Add jackfruit, jaggery, and salt, then grind to a smooth batter.
Mix in baking soda if using. No fermentation needed.
Pour into a greased appe pan and cook on low flame until golden on both sides.
Serve warm and enjoy with a cup of tea ☕
